This is one of our favorite spots to relax a bit after a long day hustle and bustle in Hong Kong. In this area you’ll find a lot of indie boutiques and cute little places where you can grab a small bite or a drink, and Teakha is one of those places. It’s tucked away in the Tai Ping Shan Street, but you can recognize Teakha easily because of it’s nice black accordion doors.
Teakha? What is it?
Teakha, ‘茶家’, literally means ‘Tea House’ in Cantonese. Here you’ll find the best organic teas in all different types and flavors. From caramalized lemon tea to the famous Keemun milktea. You name it, they have it! But you can also enjoy a cup of coffee, organic salads, sandwiches and homemade pies here!
Interior of Teakha
The best way to describe Teakha’s interior is: cute and cozy. The use of wood and fresh colors gives the interior a modern touch. And while you are waiting for your order, you can see how the lovely people from Teakha preparing it all with love from the small open kitchen.
We kept saying how cute we thought Teakha was in Dutch until the girl who worked there came up to us and told us she heard everything and she was from The Netherlands too! We made a little chit chat, she gave us some tips and went to lunch afterwards. Such a small small world, isn’t it?
