We heard some real good stories about restaurant Septime in Paris. So it was high on our ‘to-visit’ list during our trip in Paris. Especially since it is located not far away from our stay at hotel Mama Shelter. After 10 to 15 minutes walk we reached Septime restaurant in the 11th arrondissement on the rue de Charonne at number 80. By metro it is also very easy to do. Get off at the metro station Charonne and from there it’s only 5 minutes of walk.
Septime restaurant in Paris has a neo-bistro cuisine led by Chef Bertrand Grebaut. In 2009 he was at the age of 28, the youngest chef in France with a Michelin star. Our expectation was very high. At Septime you can’t choose from a menu, but you pay a fixed price for a 5 course dinner. Two starters, two main courses and a desert. Délicieux! Their motto: “haute cuisine in a casual way!” How we love that!
What makes restaurant Septime in Paris so special, is the interior. It has that casual and relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful open kitchen, industrial concrete floor, cool lighting and nice wooden tables. You will also be served by the friendly staff dressed in blue aprons, jeans and sneakers.
Our tip: book a table in advance! It is always crowded. If necessary, two weeks before you go to Paris!
